The Pod idea
Inspired by Sheikh Zayed’s love for falconry, Foster + Partners cultivated architecture that resembled falcon feathers. Mash-design believed the ingenuity should extend past their work. Our input meant the whole room transformed into part of the vision. We selected warm colours for the wall, which added depth to the Arabic island experience. We also used ‘pod’ shaped show pieces to match the contemporary style of their structural design.

Seamless typography
To avoid contrast between the Arabic and English, we selected a soft typography that complemented both languages.

Creating a sense of wonder
We tactically placed cut-outs to enhance curiosity as guests made their way around the curvy walls of the exhibition. What’s more, we enticed them with warm and welcoming lighting throughout.

A Royal opening
We were so delighted to have the Queen attend the exhibition and unveil the official Zayed National Museum design.

It was a delight to work on a project with awarding winning companies, Free Practise, the British Museum, Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), and Fosters & Partners. The level of design was elevated.
